On the evening of a lunar eclipse, up on the elevated austere and windswept plateau of Aubrac, 18-year-old Luca unintentionally discharges the service firearm belonging to his mother, Manue, accidentally injuring his girlfriend, Nour. While he is away seeking help, the young girl disappears. Manue and Johanna, local gendarmes and the mothers of the young couple involved in the tragedy, lead the investigation within a farming community currently disrupted by change. As conflicts of interest and family secrets bubble to the surface, the investigation gradually encroaches on their own personal lives.
