Jean-Christophe Bellon, a prominent local figure and president of the Great War Memorial Association of Meaux, is murdered during a re-enactment of the First Battle of the Marne, which he himself had organized. The investigation is conducted by Lieutenant Karine Lelièvre, who is joined by Captain Isabelle Guercher, her archrival. The two women are presented with an opportunity to settle their differences… until they discover that Bellon’s death is intimately interwoven with their own shared history.
